I already have 16 listings on Etsy--15 of which are individual eyeshadows!  I am almost there!

My Birchbox didn't come in today. :( I thought for sure it would, since the USPS tracking site said it had arrived in New Orleans on the 8th. Oh well. There's always Monday, right?

After today, I'm not ordering anything anymore this month, I promise!! :D I just made an order with: Pretty Addictions (on Etsy), BadBitch Cosmetics (on Etsy), BFTE Cosmetics, and then one item off of eBay (some earrings). I know. At least with the makeup purchases, it was only samples that I ordered.

You know what that means! Next week, I am going to be very busy swatching and photographing my mini-hauls.

That's it for tonight! Just had to do a little mini-update so y'all know what to expect in the coming week or so. I really can't wait for the new Fyrinnae items, especially the Lip Lustres, to come in!

Until then...

Yesterday was a busy day for online shopping for me!

I did it, y'all. I took the plunge and ordered subscriptions for like 4 different beauty box programs: Birchbox (which I've been having for some time now), Beauty Army (yessss!), Julep Maven, and MyGlam. Actually, yesterday I received an email from Julep to purchase a June Mystery Box ($19.99 for $60-200 worth of product) so of course I did that. Also, for the first time in forever, I paid for subscriptions to Vogue, Allure, Glamour and Self magazines. I know, right? I love getting things in the mail so much, and you can't beat those deals. :)

I also ordered from Fyrinnae last night, since they came out with five new shades! I really love them. I am working on collecting every eyeshadow color they have. And for the first time, I actually ordered quite a few Lip Lustre samples, 11 of them to be exact. I just found out from another blog that even though they are samples, they actually come in a miniature version of the full-size! Of course I'll have pictures and swatches to come!! <3

What else? Oh yeah, Etsy. I love trying out new companies, but the one thing I hate (but can understand why) about ordering samples is I hate those baggies! Since I have this company though, I have my own sample jars, so it's easy for me to just transfer the contents of the baggies into them! Of the two companies I purchased from, one was Mineral Love and the other was Rose Marie Shadows. I ordered 5 samples of each, so I will of course have pictures and swatches once they come in!

Oh my goodness! How could I forget?! I bought the Sleek Acid palette on eBay from England yesterday as well!! It was only $15.70 shipped. :) I am seriously planning on collecting all (or most) Sleek eyeshadow palettes. We have three pay periods next month, so I will definitely be ordering quite a bit from their website, since shipping is a whopping $13 flat rate! In all, it may set me back $70-80, but it's so worth it! <3

So that's it! I'll be posting pictures of my hauls as they arrive. I know I'll be back later today because my Birchbox will be arriving today!

Time to get dressed and ready for work!!

New beginnings~

Hey, you guys! I am sorry for taking such a long hiatus...I have been busily working on this company of mine. It's coming along nicely so far, but sometimes I wish I was doing this with someone. It's not that money is an issue at all (even it just comes rather slowly for me since I work in retail), but it's always nice having someone else's creative input! I may see things one way, but I don't want to put all of my time and effort and money into something that people won't like. Constructive criticism is always nice!

I think what I would really like to accomplish with this company is creating a line that is both safe and honest with its customers. Too many small companies out here cause all kinds of commotion when they sell "eye" shadows that aren't even approved for eye use (i.e. neons)! It's not all that difficult to produce vegan eyeshadows either--The only non-vegan ingredients I use are mica powders that already include carmine.

One issue I am coming up with is labeling. On one hand, while money is scarce, it is so easy to just slap on a sticker with the handwritten name of the shade on it. I have decent handwriting, don't get me wrong, but I don't find this looks very professional. Eventually I want to have a label on the top of the jars and the printed name on the bottom. I am torn on whether to put ingredients on the jars, too. I'll probably just put them on full-sized jars, and maybe include a small card with ingredient lists for the sample sized jars. Hmm...

Anyway, hopefully I will be up and running sometime this month. Until then, love y'all!

Here are a few swatches of what I have so far:
(from left) Ladies' Night (dark silver with pink glitter), Tail of Unicorn (lavender shimmer and silver sparkle), Furbelow (coral pink with gold flecks), Wasabi (matte light olive)

And this is how it's done! Mix, mix, mix!! <3
